Letter from the Chairman of the Advisory Board

Dear business partners,
valued colleagues,
and friends of the STIHL Group,

The past fiscal year has once again highlighted the tense environment in which the STIHL Group is operating: We are being almost constantly challenged by geopolitical uncertainties, volatile markets, and new trade policy environments framework conditions. Many developments and decisions occur overnight – sometimes catching the world and the markets off guard.

This makes it all the more remarkable that we have managed to continue our growth course and set important strategic pathways for the future.

The STIHL Group has a solid financial position, is technologically strong, and is recognized worldwide. At the same time, it is becoming increasingly clear that the success patterns of the past alone will not be sufficient to remain at the top for the decades to come. Changes in markets, technologies, customer requirements, and working environments necessitate the courage to innovate, consistency in implementation, and the willingness to challenge established approaches.

Against this backdrop, our anniversary has special significance. In 2026 we are celebrating our 100th anniversary. And in this era, that is absolutely not something that can be taken for granted. This milestone is the result of determination, inventiveness, corporate responsibility, and the ability to continually reinvent ourselves. From the first chainsaws that were taken by train to trade fairs by my grandfather, Andreas Stihl, to today’s international corporate group with a strong focus on battery technology and sustainable solutions, it has been a long journey. But we have navigated the course successfully.

This legacy carries a responsibility, and not only for us as direct descendants: It encourages everyone at STIHL to not just settle in place, but to write the next chapters of our history with the same spirit as the generations before us.

Long-term success does not arise from short-term optimism, but from a clear strategic direction, financial independence, and a culture that fosters performance, openness, and collaboration. We will continue our chosen path of transformation with determination – guided by the aspiration of dual technology leadership and continuously questioning and improving our structures, processes and management.

I would like to especially thank employees across the STIHL Group: Our success is built on your commitment, your loyalty, and your willingness to contribute to change – yesterday, today, and tomorrow. Thank you also to our business partners for their trust and reliable cooperation in a still-challenging environment.

On behalf of the Advisory Board, I would like to thank the Executive Board for their responsible leadership, as well as the employee representatives for the constructive dialogue they enable.

Together we are responsible for ensuring that STIHL continues to be an independent, successful, and future-proof family business in its second century.
